The city of Deauville is a seaside resort located in northwestern France, famous for its American film festival - (36th edition will take place in 2011). Its Casino and hotels attract numerous tourists every year.
Deauville is part of the Basse-Normandie region and the Calvados administrative district, and has a population of about 4,000.
